The Iris Prize
Established in 2007, The Iris Prize is an international gay and lesbian short film prize which is open to any short film which is by, for, about or of interest to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or intersex audiences and which must have been completed within 2 years prior to the prize deadline.
The Prize is open to film makers from around the world and judged by a panel of international filmmakers and artists. The winner receives £25,000 to make their next short film in the UK.
The Prize is awarded during a three-day event held in Cardiff which presents a programme of screenings and question and answer sessions with some of the UK’s most prominent film and media figures, and culminates in a closing night award ceremony.
The Iris Prize has secured the support of lesbian and gay film festivals from around the world, creating a single international platform with the intention of raising the profile of lesbian and gay cinema and helping a new generation of filmmakers achieve success on the international stage. Each of the partner festivals selects one film annually to participate in the Iris Prize. The partner festivals include Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, Sydney, Dublin, London, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Miami, Montreal and Hong Kong.

Gay Outdoor Club South Wales
The South Wales group generally walk on the 4th Sunday of each month.
The Gay Outdoor Club operates throughout Great Britain and provides a wide range of outdoor and indoor sports and recreational activities for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender men and women.
We organise over 500 events each year including walking, cycling, mountain biking, canoeing, caving, rock climbing, mountaineering, skiing, swimming and badminton. Most of our events are one day but we also organise weekend and longer events such as hostelling weekends, an arctic adventure and a white water rafting expedition.
GOC consists of over 30 local groups who organise regular walks, cycle rides, weekends away and social events so no-one is far from a GOC event.
For more specialist activities we have groups for canoeing, caving, rock climbing, mountaineering and skiing. Some of those events are for people with experience, but we also have events for novices. We have an 18-39 group which operates nationally providing dynamic weekends away.
We have 1,500 members and for over 30 years have been helping people to try new activities and make new friends.
GOC is a members club, so it is run by the people who go on its events. Most of our events are free and you can just turn up without booking but when you join GOC all of the money goes to run the club and none on salaries or profits.

| Business Groups |
The Gay Business Network (GBN) is a business networking community dedicated to educating and motivating you to help you build relationships to grow your business.
The aim of the Gay Business Network (GBN) is two fold:
Firstly to create a thriving business community amongst LGBT professionals to help gay business owners and professionals to develop contacts and relationships in order to build their business.
Secondly to put the LGBT community in touch with LGBT business owners and professionals where they can be assured that their everyday services are carried out by REAL "Gay Freindly" service providers that respect and understand their needs and lifestyle.
Where GBN differs from other networking organisations is that we recognise that people do business with the people they know, like and trust. Business is the main agenda but equal importance is put on the social aspects in order to help facilitate relationships which in turn encourages business. With this in mind our aim is to facilitate friendships amongst members through structured business meetings and professional social events on an equal basis.
We all have one thing in common, we are proud of who we are and wish to use this common factor as a basis to build thriving business relationships.
Organisations have been cashing in on “the pink pound” for many years, GBN aims to keep the "pink pound" amongst the LGBT community and build a thriving business community amongst like minded professionals.
GBN meets once a month in Cardiff, South Wales.
